[movie] The Restless (Joong-cheon)

I just watched The Restless. It’s the first time I’ve seen a Korean period fantasy drama. The special effects and overfall feel reminded me of The Promise, which I heartily urge anyone not to see. Anyway, The Restless is a romantic drama that takes place in a supernatural world called “Joong-cheon”, where the souls of dead people rest for 49 days before reincarnation.

The plot summary from IMDB:
The Restless is set in fantasy world for souls that have passed away long before they are reincarnated. This epic film combines various elements/genres like romance, fantasy, sword plays, martial arts and the never-ending fight between good and evil. The midheaven is a place for to those who have died in the real world but have failed to ascend to heaven.

Just know that it’s not an award-winning complex fantasy like Lord of the Rings, so watch it with a lighthearted expectation and you’ll enjoy the movie immensely for its love story and beautiful scenery.
